The Department of Writing Studies at the University of Minnesota–Twin Cities is delighted to host the 21st Great Plains Alliance for Computers and Writing Conference on Saturday, October 21st, 2017. A free pre-conference event will be organized on Friday in conjunction to the conference. This year’s conference theme will explore “New Realities in Computers and Writing.”

This year's conference will feature Dr. Aaron Doering, who directs the Learning Technologies Media Lab at the University of Minnesota. Professor Doering is a laureate of the prestigious humanitarian Tech Awards, as well as an Institute on the Environment fellow. He is a pioneer in adventure learning, and is recognized for the many cutting-edge, technology-enhanced education programs he spearheaded over the past decade and beyond. Professor Doering plans to share with us his experience in educating learners worldwide about sustainability, resilience, and the role of traditional knowledge in today's education via digital platforms.
